Corran Horn and Whistler
11-5-99 Update:
I liked my original Corran Horn figure (shown below), but I didn't love him. And when I had a
chance to put Corran up on the Forgotten Force's Critique of the Week, I
decided to completely fix my favorite figure.
First of all, the flightsuit was way off from right. The color was so
glossy, so I carefully repainted the suit.
Then came Corran's face. I totally reapinted the skin and hair on the head.
it looks so much better than his older, scruffier self.
I also added a few new accessories to Corran. I played a thief, stealing a
lightsaber from my fan-fic Jedi Leia, and the helmet from my Snowspeeder
Pilot Dash Rendar. I painted both to match my references or imagination. For
the lightsaber, I painted white glass paint onto a clear rod the same
diameter as the Hasbro lightsabers. So now corran has two lihtsabers, a
blaster, a helmet, and Whistler, if you counthim as an accessory. Either
way, my favorite custom so far is looking better than ever!

Corran Horn is a pilot in Michael Stackpole's X-Wing novel series. Along with him is his faithful Astromech droid, Whistler.
Corran is one of the most complicated figures I have made so far, taking parts from three figures (four if you count the lightsaber). The main body is Bossk's. The arms and boots are from an AT-ST driver, the head is from Dash Rendar. The figfure was put together and repainted. The beard was sanded off. A coat of flesh paint is below the beard, so no painting was needed there. The hair is brown. The flightsuit is mainly forest green with another coat of regular green over it. Black and silver details were then added. The flight bib is gray.
Whistler is simply R2-D2 with blue parts painted forest green and some dirty work.
