Jabba's Palace Diorama

My take on Jabba's Palace is by no means to scale with the figures. It was inspired by old Kenner playsets like the vintage Death Star set which tried to capture the overall form of an object. I chose to build the main building of the palace instead of just making a throne room.

The base of my palace is an old 55 gallon drum ( 36" tall, 22" diameter). This is cheap (I got mine for $5), compact, and requires little work.

The picture above provides a good overview of the entire thing. In the middle left you can barely see the droid room. Immediately right are two "blaster scars." The whole thing needs a roof, paint job, and mache touch-up.

This picture shows a close-up of the far inside wall. I used old pantyhose to make a ceiling that I felt matched the sort of Egyptian look of Jabba's Palace.
